
River Cats Announce Plans for 10th Season Celebration

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats have unveiled plans to honor their fans and community supporters to celebrate the team's 10th season in Sacramento, club officials announced today. Since the team moved to Sacramento from Vancouver prior to the 2000 season, the River Cats have been the most successful team in all of Minor League Baseball, both on the field and off. During that stretch, the organization boasts the highest attendance in all of Minor League Baseball (approximately 160 teams) in each season in club history, charitable donations from the River Cats Foundation in cash and in-kind donations back to area communities totaling nearly $10 million, four (4) Pacific Coast League (PCL) Championships, two (2) Triple-A Championships, seven (7) PCL Playoff appearances and four (4) PCL MVP Award winners. Without a doubt, it is the shared experiences and special memories of River Cats fans and the Sacramento area that have become the fundamental and lasting legacy of River Cats Baseball. As a way to honor those memories, the team has created a way for fans to share their favorite moment relating to the River Cats or Raley Field. It may be a dramatic moment in a ballgame, a child's first encounter with Dinger, a funny story amongst friends or a special family memory. The Cats have impacted their fans and community in many different ways, and this is an opportunity to share those stories. Fans interested in submitting a written story, photo or video can do so at www.rivercats.com/10thseason. The best stories, images and videos will be posted online for all to see.
Fan-Selected All-Time River Cats Team
Who is the best starting pitcher in River Cats history, Barry Zito or Rich Harden? Fans can decide for themselves by voting for EVERY position on the All-Time River Cats Team online at www.rivercats.com/10thseason. The players who receive the most votes will be honored on a special 10th Season Team Poster giveaway, June 19th at Raley Field. There is no limit to how many times fans can vote, so passionate supporters can click away!
Fan-Favorite Bobblehead Giveaway
The top two vote getters in the All-Time River Cats Team vote will be commemorated with a River Cats Fan-Favorite Bobblehead giveaway on July 31st. Fans in attendance that night will receive a bobblehead of one of the two top vote-getters.
