River Cats Announce 2009 High School Baseball Schedule

March 3, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Sacramento River Cats News Release

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats have announced the 2009 schedule for the River Cats High School Baseball Program. The 2009 schedule kicks off with the March 6th match-up between Davis and Woodland. The program, now in its 6th year, has raised in excess of $215,000 for participating teams since its inception.

Each participating team receives an allotment of River Cats tickets, good for select River Cats home games during the 2009 season, at up to a $5/per ticket discount. Teams then sell the tickets at face value with the net proceeds going back to the school for new uniforms, equipment needs, travel expenses and various other team costs. Once each team has sold their allotment of tickets, the River Cats provide a FREE Raley Field experience. They not only play a game on the Raley Field diamond, but are treated to all the amenities of a River Cats game, including in-game entertainment, scoreboard and public address services. All games are open to the public.

"In the six years since we instituted our High School Baseball Program, it has been extraordinarily successful and emblematic of the River Cats' work within the youth sports community," said Alan Ledford, River Cats president, general manager and COO. "Area high school coaches and administrators continue to provide extraordinarily positive feedback on this program, and we are proud to contribute to the growth of our community's athletic programs."
