Rivals Meet with Playoffs in Balance; Wave at Blast Saturday Night
February 29, 2024 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Milwaukee Wave News Release
After an exciting overtime victory in St.Louis last weekend against the Ambush, the 7-time champion Milwaukee Wave prepare for their biggest game yet and against their biggest rival; the Baltimore Blast.
"There is so much history between us already;" said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "Now add in the dogfight in the MASL East Division this season and that only intensifies this game."
Currently in the MASL East Division the Monterrey Flash (52 pts.) have already secured a spot in the post season with Utica (36 pts.), Kansas City (34 pts.), Milwaukee (33 pts.) and Baltimore (23 pts.) jockeying for position.
"We know that Baltimore will be up to play the roll of spoiler in the grand scheme of things but we won't let them," added Oliviero. "We've just got to stay on point mentally and physically; and even more so on the smaller, quicker field that TU Arena offers. It'll be fast and furious Saturday with a playoff vibe; we already know that going in, but we've been prepping all week, working on our weaknesses and sharpening things up. We'll be ready for this one and we're looking forward to it."
