
Riptide Sign Jon Harnett

New York, NY - The New York Riptide announced today they signed defenseman Jon Harnett to a two-year contract.
Per team policy, no terms were released.
A 12-year NLL veteran who was selected 26th overall in the 2008 Entry Draft, Harnett has seen action in 161 regular season games. He has 579 loose balls and 108 caused turnovers and offensively has recorded 75 points on 10 goals and 65 assists. The 6-foot-1 lefthander has also racked up 227 penalty minutes during his career.
"We are excited that Jon chose to sign with the Riptide," Riptide general manager Jim Veltman said. "He will add needed veteran leadership and grit to our group."
In 11 games for the Buffalo Bandits last season, Harnett had 27 loose ball pickups and seven caused turnovers. In 22 career playoff games, he has six points on two goals and four assists while scooping up 80 loose balls and causing 19 turnovers.
