
Rio Grande Valley's Anderson Signs With Oklahoma City Thunder

NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2010 - The Oklahoma City Thunder today signed Antonio Anderson of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers making him the 14th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2009-10 NBA D-League season and the fourth Viper to make the jump to the NBA this season. Anderson joins 70 current NBA players with NBA D-League experience.
Anderson, a 6-6 guard out of Memphis, has appeared in 32 games, all starts, for the Vipers this season, averaging 15.5 points, 5.9 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 39.6 minutes. He has scored in double figures 25 times, including a season-high 28 points on three occasions.
A four-year contributor at Memphis, Anderson averaged 10.1 points, 4.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds during his senior season when he was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.
Anderson is expected to join the Thunder today and be available tomorrow when the team hosts the Phoenix Suns. Tip off is set for 8 p.m ET.
