EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC announced today the club has reached an agreement with Sacramento Republic FC for the transfer of midfielder Rodrigo Lopez, pending league and federation approval. Per club policy, the terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
During the 2021 USL Championship season, Lopez appeared in 33 games and started 28 for the Toros. He scored six goals and had six assists for the side as it advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals of the 2021 USL Championship Playoffs. Lopez was selected on four occasions to the Championship's Team of the Week and was twice nominated for the Fans' Choice Goal of the Week during the season.
