Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL), in conjunction with the CHL announced today the results of the second Yellowbook CHL's Coaches Poll. After starting the year ranked 9th the Bees have risen to 5th place behind only Allen, Colorado, Bossier-Shreveport and Dayton.

"This is really more a testament to the players than anything else," Bees Head Coach Chris Brooks said. "They have been playing strong as a team all season and it shows not only in this poll, but also with their results on the ice."

The Killer Bees are coming off an arduous road trip in which they defeated the Texas Brahmas for the first time this season. The Bees and Brahmas battled to a shootout where Tomas Klempa and Aaron Lee were able to score.

The Bees return home this weekend for a pair of games against Bossier-Shreveport and the Texas Brahmas. Puck drops at 7:30 on both nights and the first 1,000 fans on Friday night's game against the Mudbugs will get a free water bottle. On Saturday the Bees will be sporting special Harley-Davidson jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game.

Tickets are available for both nights by visiting killerbeehockey.com or calling 956-843-PUCK (7825). Tickets start as low as $12.75.
