Published on November 17, 2010 under Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

TEMPE, AZ (November 17, 2010) - After ranking second on the first Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll, the Allen Americans have roared to the top spot of the most recent poll earning 16 first place votes with a gap of 24 points separating them from the Colorado Eagles, the #2 team on the poll. The poll will be released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn nine points, etc.

Allen (11-2-0) has won five straight games and has done a majority of their damage on the road with an 8-1-0 mark away from the Allen Event Center. The Eagles (8-2-1) earned one of the other two first place votes and had their eight-game win streak snapped on November 12. The remaining team to garner a first place vote was the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (10-4-0). Teams are unable to vote for themselves meaning Allen appeared on 16 of a possible 17 ballots they were eligible for.

Rounding out the top five are Dayton (7-2-1), who moved up one spot from the previous poll, and Rio Grande Valley (6-4-2) who jumped four spots in the poll moving up from #9 to #5.

New additions to the top 10 are the Wichita Thunder (6-4-1), debuting at #6, and the Evansville IceMen (6-5-1), while dropping out of the top 10 are the Laredo Bucks (4-6-1) and the Quad City Mallards (5-5-0).
