Arkansas RimRockers News Release
TORONTO - The Toronto Raptors announced today they have signed Arkansas RimRockers center James Lang to a 10-day contact, making him the 14th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2005-06 NBA Development League season, the eighth this month and the 64th overall since the league began play in November 2001.
Lang, 6-10, 285, was a second-round pick (12th overall) in the 2005 NBA Development League Draft by the Arkansas RimRockers. He has played in 32 games this season (10 starts) with Arkansas, averaging 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in 16.5 minutes.
Lang is with his second NBA team this season. He was signed to two 10-day contracts by the Atlanta Hawks (March 2 and 12, 2006) but did not appear in any games. He was originally drafted by the New Orleans Hornets in the second-round (48th overall) in the 2003 NBA Draft. The product of Central Park Christian High School in Birmingham, Ala. made the club's regular-season roster, but didn't appear in a game before being waived December 29, 2003. He was in Utah's training camp in October where he appeared in six games, posting averages of 1.8 points and 2.5 rebounds.
