
Riggers Take Win Over Rush 12-11

CALGARY- The Calgary Roughnecks (5-3) continued their superiority over their provincial rivals, Edmonton Rush (2-6), 12-11 Sunday afternoon at Rexall Place on the road.
For the Rush, they had their chance late in the game. With one minute left, they drew up a play that would have tied up the game but forward Scott Evans dropped the pass. Then with 15.2 seconds left, the Rushhad another chance buit rang the ball off the post as the buzzer rang, giving Calgary their third straight win in the Battle of Alberta.
The Rush opened the scoring two minutes in with Jarret Toll finding the back of the net. Both teams added a pair as the Rush took a 3-2 lead after the first.
Curtis Dickson continued his hot hand in the rookie campaign as he completed his hat trick by the end of the half. Geoff Snider,Cory Conway and Jeff Shattler also scored for the Roughnecks while the Rush replied with Scott Evans scoring his second of the game and a single by Gavin Prout.
Evans scored two more in the third quarter with the teams tied all up at eight going into the final frame.
The Roughnecks pushed to an 11-9 lead before a pair from Jimmy Quinlan tied it up. Shattler finished off his hat trick around the four minute mark that held out as the game winner.
Roughnecks goalie Mike Poulin turned away 28 shots while his counterpart Matt Disher facing 55 shots with 43 saves.
Also scoring for the Roughnecks was Scott Ranger with a pair with Dane Dobbie and Kaleb Toth adding singles.
Rush forward Evans finished up with five goals with Dean Hill ading a pair.
Both teams have next weekend off as the NLL All Star game is going on.
The Roughnecks are off to Philadelphia in a couple of weeks to take on the Wings on March 5th. Next weekend is the NLL All-Star game which will feature Roughneck players Andrew McBride, Scott Ranger, Geoff Snider, and Jeff Shattler on February 27th.
