Riders Use Another Big Inning to Take Down 'Hounds

MIDLAND, Texas - A night after scoring four times in the first inning, the Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, plated five runs in the fourth in a 7-4 win over the Midland RockHounds Wednesday night at Security Bank Ballpark.

BIG MOMENTS

* After taking a 2-1 lead in the third, the Riders blew the game open with five runs in the fourth. Correlle Prime hit a homer on the first pitch of the frame, which also featured RBIs from Michael De Leon, Hunter Cole and Josh Morgan.

* Riders starter Pedro Payano turned in a quality start, allowing one run on five hits in six innings.

* Reliever Jeffrey Springs came on in the eighth after Midland had already scored three times in the inning, and proceeded to retire all six hitters he faced en route to a two-inning save.

* Michael O'Neill: 3-for-4, 2B, RBI

* Hunter Cole: 2-for-5, 3B, BB, R

* The Riders have scored at least four runs in an inning three times in the last four games.

* Springs extended his scoreless streak to 7 2/3 innings Wednesday and has retired 17 consecutive batters.

* Michael De Leon extended his hitting streak to nine games with a double in the fourth inning.
