Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

Saskatchewan Roughrider President Tom Robinson announced that effective today; Rider fans will be able to officially become the owners of the Saskatchewan Roughriders by investing in the team through a unique share offering.

"These shares provide fans with the right to elect the board of directors, to be heard on important issues surrounding the club, receive financial and annual reports and receive a very attractive commemorative certificate," stated Robinson.

"It is our goal to sell 20,000 shares at $250 apiece. That will generate $5 million. We also hope to raise $1 million from the corporate sector."

"While Grey Cup and a successful 2003 season have virtually eliminated our $2.5 million deficit, we need a solid financial foundation to attract and retain top talent, improve training facilities, upgrade our stadium, and build a legacy to make sure the Riders remain the pride of the CFL long into the future."

Individuals are limited to purchasing 20 "A" shares that carry full voting privileges while a second class of shares, "B" shares are available for corporate or individual purchase but these are non-voting. Companies will use these as gifts or incentives for staff and customers and can be converted to "A" shares once they have been designated to an individual.
