
Grey Cup to make appearance at Winterlude this weekend

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Renegades, proud hosts of the 2004 Grey Cup Festival and proud sponsor of Winterlude, remind members of the media that the Grey Cup, championship trophy of the Canadian Football League, will be on display Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15 at the Renegades Fan Zone at Dows Lake during Winterlude festivities.
The Fan Zone, located just east of Dows Lake Pavilion, is open from noon until 3 p.m. both days.
Fans are welcome to view the Grey Cup and pose for pictures with a Canadian sports icon.
Renegades players will also be on hand for photographs and autographs. Scheduled to appear on Saturday are linebacker Jason Kralt, receiver Demetris Bendross, safety Greg Bearman and offensive lineman Mike Abou-Mechrek. Scheduled to appear on Sunday are Kralt, Abou-Mechrek, offensive lineman Mike Sutherland, offensive lineman Val St. Germain and receiver Darryl Ray.
The Renegades' interactive Fan Zone will also be open during the final weekend of Winterlude, on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22. Included among the features are appearances by Ruffy, the team mascot, a football toss and an obstacle course that can be completed on skates or regular footwear.
The Grey Cup Festival begins in Ottawa on Wednesday, November 17 at celebration venues located throughout the city core.
