Cedar Rapids RoughRiders News Release
Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Drew Palmisano was often spectacular while making 32 saves and his Omaha Lancers scored four unanswered goals on the way to a 4-1 win over the host RoughRiders Friday night.
The Lancer goal rush started when Jake Marto snapped the puck home from the left wing circle to tie the game at one just 61 seconds into the second period.
Omaha took the lead at 13:48 of the second when Rider goaltender Kent Patterson wandered from his crease and the Lancers' Patrick Schafer fired the puck into the empty net before Patterson could scramble back in.
The Lancers wrapped up the win with a pair of third period goals. Mark Olver wristed the puck in from the right wing boards to make it 3-1 at 3:30 of the third. Just over three minutes later, Jack Downing provided the fourth Lancer goal with a blast from the top of the left wing circle.
The Riders started the night well, taking a 1-0 lead at 11:37 of the first period. Rob Bordson buried the rebound after Palmisano stopped Evan Stephens' blast from the right wing circle.
