Indiana Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice is proud to present the 12th annual Key Bank "Pack the House for Charity Night" on Saturday, February 3rd as the Ice take on the Green Bay Gamblers at 7 p.m. from Conseco Fieldhouse.

Key Bank and the Ice have teamed up to benefit the United Way of Central Indiana and more specifically it's "Imagination Library" program. The Imagination Library is an early literacy program of United Way of Central Indiana's Success By 6. The program makes it possible for every child under age five in Hancock, Hendricks and Marion Counties to have a library of their own at no cost to families. Each month until their fifth birthday, a new hardcover book is mailed to children registered in the program. Through Imagination Library, parents and children can spend quality time reading together.

"Pack the House Night" began in 1995-96 to give the Ice an opportunity to give back to the communities throughout Central Indiana. The Ice partner up with local organizations to help them raise money for their cause and each organization receives a portion of all ticket sales for the night generated by their efforts. Past groups have included Agape, United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation.

Since the Ice began play in the USHL in 2004-05, the "Pack the House" contest is annually the most-attended game for Tier 1 Junior Hockey in all of North America. The 2005 and 2006 crowds both drew over 14,000 people and are the top two hockey crowds all-time for the USHL.

Another customary tradition continues this season as the Ice players will once again be wearing special commemorative jerseys designed by children from St. Vincent Children's Hospital. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the game-worn jerseys throughout the evening with all proceeds benefiting the hospital.

Last but not least, the Ice will honor the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday as the team will wear Colts horseshoes on their helmets as well as pay tribute to the AFC Championship squad in other ways during the game.

Tickets for "Pack the House Night" and all home games range from $11-$15 ($2 off for children 12 and under and seniors 62 and over) and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records and the Pepsi Coliseum and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices, or by calling 239-5151 or online at ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more can order their tickets through the Ice office by calling 925-4423.
