
'Riders Fall 11-5, Missions Solely in First

The RoughRiders fell 11-5 Saturday night from Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium in San Antonio as the Missions extended their division lead back to two games over Frisco.
The Missions drove Frisco starterRichard Bleierout of the game with two outs in the third having scored seven runs. San Antonio batted around in the inning and ended the third inning with a 9-0 lead.
Bleier faced twenty Mission batters over his two and two-thirds innings of work. He allowed nine runs, five earned as the 'Riders committed two of their three errors in the third inning, on nine hits. With the loss, Bleier is now 3-6 on the season.
Frisco got on the board in the fifth after four consecutive hits to lead off the inning, including an RBI triple byEngel Beltrethat scoredJonathan Greenefrom first.Jose FelixandDavis Stoneburnerbrought in runs on RBI singles to make it 9-3 San Antonio.
The Missions padded their lead in the seventh to put the game out of reach. After an RBI ground ball scoredBlake Tekotte,Sawyer Carrolldelivered a run scoring single to push the lead up to 11-3. Carroll finished the game 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.
The 'Riders added their final two runs in the eighth onMitch Hilligoss'RBI infield hit and Stoneburner's second RBI single of the game.
The Missions and RoughRiders will play game three of this four-game series Sunday night as the 'Riders try to inch closer in the standings. First pitch is at 7:05 asRobbie Erlin(5-2, 4.32 ERA) will take the mound for Frisco and be opposed bySimon Castro(3-4, 5.65 ERA).
