Carl Klingberg found some room between the goaltender's pad and the post just over two minutes into overtime and squeezed the puck through to give the IceCaps a thrilling win over the Portland Pirates at Mile One Centre. IceCaps goaltender Connor Hellebuyck stopped all but one of the 33 shots he faced to help his team snap a two-game winless skid.

Justin Hodgman scored the game-winner late in the first period and Eric Selleck and Alexandre Bolduc added singles as the Pirates topped the IceCaps at Mile One Centre. Both starting goaltenders turned in solid performances but it was Portland's Mike McKenna who won the battle with a 32-save shutout. IceCaps' starter Connor Hellebuyck was the busier of the two and stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced.

STJ 3 vs POR 2 (OT)
Carl Klingberg scored just 37 seconds into overtime to propel the IceCaps to a nerve-racking win over the Pirates at Mile One Centre.
Klingberg pounced on a juicy rebound off the stick of John Albert and beat Pirates starter Louis Domingue in the opening minute of the extra period to give the IceCaps their second win of the three games against Portland and a record of four wins and three losses to end their seven-game homestand. Will O'Neill had a goal and an assist while Chase Balisy had the other IceCaps tally. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 31 shots for his 17th win.
