Charlotte Checkers News Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers today announced promotions for their annual Race Night, set for this Friday, Jan. 23, and Pit Crew Night, which will take place one day prior on Thursday, Jan. 22. Both games begin at 7 p.m.

Sprint Cup Series drivers Joey Logano, Ryan Newman, Regan Smith, Trevor Bayne and Greg Biffle will headline Race Night, presented by Aggressive Hydraulics, on Friday. Most of those drivers, along with others from various circuits, will hold an autograph session when doors open to the public at 6 p.m.

For Thursday's Pit Crew Night, presented by Bounty/Harris Teeter, reigning Sprint Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick and members of his Stewart-Haas Racing crew will be on hand for the ceremonial puck drop. During the game, Harvick will present one lucky fan with an autographed Race Night jersey that the Checkers will wear for both Race Week games against the Oklahoma City Barons.

All drivers will be available to media either before or after the drop of the puck at 7 p.m. on the nights in which they are attending. Media interested in interviewing any driver should contact Paul Branecky ahead of time using the information below this release.

Fans can bid on the Checkers' specialty race-themed jerseys during a live auction immediately following Race Night on Friday. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Joey Logano Foundation, Claire's Army and the Isabella Santos Foundation. Photos of this season's jersey are attached to this release.

Other promotions surrounding Race Week include a Bojangles' Mystery Card giveaway to the first 2,500 fans on Race Night and $1 Budweiser draughts on Pit Crew Night. On Friday, Wells Fargo's Duke Energy Center in uptown Charlotte will be lit red in support of Race Night.
