American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
Despite a rain delay of two hours on Sunday, June 1st and school nights on Monday the 2nd and Tuesday the 3rd, about 6000 fans came to the three-game Pride-Bears series to see the Pride take two out of three from Newark with the future Hall-of-Famer patrolling the Holman Stadium outfield in front of Roy Campanella, Don Newcombe and Jackie Robinson's legendary numbers in left field.
Henderson and his teammate, former Houston Astros 20-game winner Jose Lima, showcased themselves in an 11-2 victory over the Pride in the series finale, and their presence helped generate alot of publicity for Pride baseball. In addition to the regular Pride coverage on WMUR, and in the Telegraph and Union Leader, WB56, CN8, the Worcester Telegram, just to name a few made the trip to the Pride press box to catalog Rickey's visit.
