RHP Hansel Paulino transferred from Tri-City to Quad Cities

Quad Cities River Bandits News Release


The Quad Cities River Bandits, in conjunction with the Houston Astros, have announced the following changes to their roster on Wednesday. Pitcher Hansel Paulino has been transferred from Tri-City (Short-Season A) to Quad Cities. Catcher Alex Holderbach as been activated from the 7-day injured list. Pitcher Joey Gonzalez has been transferred from Quad Cities to Fayetteville (Advanced-A). Pitcher Layne Henderson has been transferred from Quad Cities to Corpus Christi (Double-A).

Additions:

RHP Hansel Paulino transferred from Tri-City to Quad Cities

C Alex Holderbach activated from the 7-day injured list.

Subtractions:

RHP Joey Gonzalez transferred from Quad Cities to Fayetteville

RHP Layne Henderson transferred from Quad Cities to Corpus Christi

Paulino has allowed two runs, one earned, in 6.1 innings in the New York-Penn League this season. He struck out ten batters in four relief appearances an limited the opposition to a .182 batting average. Last season, the native of the Dominican Republic made nine appearances for the River Bandits and posted a 2-1 record and 3.57 earned run average.

Holderbach will continue to wear #14. Paulino will be assigned a number on Thursday. The active roster remains full at the 25-player limit.
