The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:
-RHP Casey Bloomquist has been placed on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to August 7.
Bloomquist has appeared in 30 games for Myrtle Beach this season. The right-hander is 3-4 with a 3.71 ERA, striking out 51 against 23 walks and 64 hits allowed in 63.0 innings. A native of Bakersfield, Calif., Bloomquist split the 2017 campaign between the Pelicans and Double-A Tennessee, combining to post a 5-5 record and 5.80 ERA in 29 games, including 11 starts. Bloomquist was selected by the Cubs in the 17th round of the 2015 draft out of Cal Poly San Luis-Obispo.
The Pelicans' roster sits at 24 active players, with six players on the disabled list.
