
Rhinos To Play Final Of Eight Straight On The Road

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rhinos will play the final of eight consecutive road matches to begin the season this Saturday night in Charleston, when they take on the Charleston Battery at Blackbaud Stadium. Kickoff for the match is slated for 7:30 p.m.
The Battery, (2-0-4) reside in fourth place in the USL First Division table with ten points, while Rochester (4-2-1) is tied with Carolina for first overall with 13 points. Charleston features former Rhinos Ian Fuller (F), Frankie Sanfilippo (D) and Dusty Hudock (GK). Defender Nigel Marples, who has appeared in one match for Charleston, appeared in one match for Rochester last season, while on loan from the Harrisburg City Heat. The Battery enter Saturday's match having allowed a league low two goals this season, while scoring just four. They are led on offense by Daniel Antoniuk with three points this season. Rochester meanwhile has tallied a league-high ten goals in seven matches, led by Johnny Menyongar, with four. His four goals and nine points lead all USL-1 players in 2009. In goal, Rochester's Scott Vallow leads the league with 38 saves, 10 better than Jay Nolly of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Rochester will return to Rhinos Stadium after their match against the Battery, in preparation for their home opening match against the Montreal Impact on Saturday, May 30 at 7:35 p.m.
RHINOS TO HOLD KICKOFF LUNCHEON AT ITALIAN AMERICAN SPORTS CLUB
The Rochester Rhinos will host a Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday, May 27th at the Italian American Sports Club, located at 1250 Buffalo Road in Gates, N.Y.
The event includes a served lunch at noon and begins at 11:15 a.m. The festivities will include an introduction of the 2009 Rochester Rhinos soccer club. Tickets for the event are $20 each or $150 for a table of eight and can be purchased by calling (585) 889-4840 or by downloading the order form from the Rhinos website at www.rhinossoccer.com.
