RGV FC Set to Face Top Ranked Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, California - Rio Grande Valley FC (4-5-7) face top seeded Sacramento Republic FC (9-2-5) on Saturday, July 1 at 10:00 p.m. CST. This will be the first meeting of the 2023 season between the sides, as RGV FC closes a two-game road trip out West in California.
RGV FC:
Everything went well out in Oakland,CA for the Toros as they cruised to a 0-2 victory at Pioneer Stadium to upset Oakland Roots SC at home. Wilmer Andres Cabrera came off the bench to put on an offensive show as he scored a brace on the night; fellow forward teammate, Frank Lopez also made a big impact off the bench as he assisted on both scoring plays to seal the deal and help his side extend their unbeaten streak to four games; two consecutive wins.
Sporting Director Wilmer Cabrera has been more than pleased with his defensive unit, as they managed back-to-back clean sheets, keeping Tyler Deric relatively unbusy in both matches. His tight defense has allowed for more creativity offensively, which has resulted in a more productive couple of weeks in the attacking third.
This matchup with top seeded Sacramento Republic will be the ultimate test for Rio Grande as they look to prove that this is a completely different team than we have seen in the opening weeks of the season.
