York Revolution News Release

Bridgewater, NJ-The York Revolution tallied ten hits but struggled to bunch the hits together, falling to the Somerset Patriots 4-1 on Sunday afternoon in front of 5,403 fans at TD Bank Ballpark. After dropping the rubber match of the series, the Revs will continue their road trip to Long Island where they will kick off a three-game series against the Ducks on Monday night. York jumped ahead early as Alonzo Harris doubled down the left field line on the first pitch of the game, advanced to third on a passed ball on the game's second pitch, and scored on an RBI single to center by Angel Franco on the third pitch of the day. Patriots starter Logan Darnell picked off Franco before Joel Guzman drilled a double off the left field wall, as the Revs settled for the 1-0 lead. Somerset answered in the bottom of the first, scoring on a throwing error on an attempted double play turn that would have ended the inning, tying the game at 1-1. Darnell (2-1) caught another runner stealing in the second, erasing Derrick Robinson after a two-out infield hit, and the lefty settled in to allow just one run over six innings, earning the win. Logan Williamson (0-1) was solid in his return from a lower body injury, allowing three runs (two earned) over a season-high five innings in his third start, but was tagged with the loss. His two earned runs are the most the lefty has allowed in three starts on the season, returning to the mound for the first time since 2015.
