New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls will play Game Two of their Eastern Conference Semifinal Series at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Gillette Stadium. With the two-game, total-goals series knotted at 0-0 after Game One last Saturday at Giants Stadium, the winner of this Saturday's game will advance to the Eastern Conference Championship.
Fox Soccer Channel will televise the game live nationally, while WRKO 680 AM will carry the game locally on the radio. FSC will also broadcast a live 30-minute pregame show from Gillette Stadium, as well as a live 30-minute postgame show.
Should the teams play to a draw on Saturday, they would then immediately play a 30-minute mini-game to determine a winner. If the teams' total goals still remain tied after extra time, penalty kicks will be used to determine the series winner.
The last time the two teams met in the postseason at Gillette Stadium - on Oct. 29, 2005 - the Revs rallied from a 2-0 aggregate deficit to win the series 3-2 during a snow storm. New England scored three goals in a 16-minute span of Game Two to secure the series victory.
The Revs have won both postseason series the teams have played (2003 and 2005), and is 2-1-2 against New York all-time in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
The winner of Saturday's game will advance to the Eastern Conference Championship where it will face the winner of the Chicago Fire-D.C. United Eastern Conference Semifinal Series, which was concluding on Thursday evening in Washington. The Eastern Conference Championship will be played at the home field of the highest remaining team on Thursday, Nov. 8. ESPN2 will begin its live telecast at 7:30 p.m.
