New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - With the fall season officially upon us and the MLS Cup Playoff race as tight as it's ever been, the New England Revolution continues its quest for a postseason berth when the club hosts expansion team Seattle Sounders FC for the first time ever at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 26. The game will be televised live on TV38 beginning at 7:30 p.m., while WRKO 680 AM will have the call on the radio.

The Revs (9-8-7, 34 pts.) snapped a brief two-game losing streak with a draw on the road against the New York Red Bulls last Friday night, pulling them within two points of the final playoff spot with six games remaining in the regular season. The Sounders (9-6-11, 38 pts.) enter this week's action in third place in the Western Conference and fifth in the overall MLS standings, and Saturday night's match starts a critical three-game road swing for the club from the Pacific Northwest.

This will be Seattle's first-ever visit to Gillette Stadium, although it will not be the first time the Revs and Sounders have squared off. The teams first met on Aug. 20 at Qwest Field, where the Revolution earned a 1-0 win behind the strength of Shalrie Joseph's 21st-minute goal and became just the second visiting club to claim three points in Seattle.
