New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will host the Columbus Crew at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Gillette Stadium. The game will be televised live on TV38 and the WEEI Radio Network will carry the game on the radio.

New England (14-7-7, 49 pts.) is second in the Eastern Conference, having already secured a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs. The Revs announced this week that the team would host its Eastern Conference Semifinal match - Game Two of the two-game series - on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. The Revolution's opponents is yet to be determined, and Game One of the series will be played at the home field of that team the week of Oct. 25-27.

Columbus (7-11-10, 31 pts.) is in the thick of the race for the eighth and final playoff spot, entering the game in sixth place in the East, five points back of Chicago, which currently holds the eighth spot overall. The Crew has just one win in its last 10 matches, and enters with a two-game losing streak.

Columbus holds the lead in the all-time series between the two teams, going 21-14-9 against the Revs. Saturday's game is the final of the three regular-season meetings between the teams, the teams playing to draws in both prior matches this season. On April 19, the teams finished deadlocked at 2-2 in Columbus, and followed that with a 3-3 contest on June 16 at Gillette Stadium. The Revs own a 10-9-3 record in home games against the Crew, including a 6-3-2 mark at Gillette Stadium, and are 5-1-6 against Columbus in MLS regular-season games since July 2004.
