Revs 10th Anniversary Promo Schedule: "Celebrate York" Giveaway Series

(York, Pa.): While fan giveaways are always a staple of the York Revolution promotional schedule, the 10th anniversary season will see that rise to a never-before-seen level. To honor a decade of York Revolution baseball, the organization is honoring York and York County's favorite sons and daughters, for their contributions to sports, government, military service and pop culture. Each Friday night of the 2016 home schedule at PeoplesBank Park will include a giveaway, for at least the first 1,500 fans in attendance. The majority of the famous Yorkers will be honored in the way minor league baseball knows best - in bobblehead form. But each giveaway will be tailored specially to the honoree:
April 29: Governor Tom Wolf (Mt. Wolf's own, elected as Pennsylvania's 47th Governor last November, will kick off the series with a bobblehead featuring a Revolution cap and jersey.)
May 13: Marquis de Lafayette (The Revolutionary War hero, famous for his visit to York and toasting George Washington and the colonial troops as depicted with his statue in York City, will be further immortalized with a bobblehead of the same pose.)
May 27: Voni Grimes (One of York's favorite sons will be honored with a combo bobblehead and music box, which will feature an actual harmonica rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame, as he performs for the crowds at PeoplesBank Park.)
June 3: Chris Doleman (The former star defensive end/linebacker for William Penn Senior High School, the University of Pittsburgh and NFL Hall-of-Famer's bobblehead will depict him in a "York High" uniform. Doleman will also personally appear at the game.)
June 17: Bruce Arians (The 2014 NFL Coach of the Year will be immortalized in his hometown in gnome-form, complete with his stylish hat and glasses.)
July 1: York Plan Tumbler (Enjoy your own personal replica of the "York Plan" mural from South George Street in York...in travel mug form! A replica of the World War II-era mural will be printed around the tumbler.)
July 3 (Sunday): Jacob Devers (The Revolution will pay tribute to one of the most important World War II generals on 4th of July Weekend, with a commemorative Devers coin giveaway.)
July 15: Loretta Claiborne (The nationally known Special Olympics champion and York native will return to PeoplesBank Park for her bobblehead giveaway.)
July 29: York Barbell Man (Who said the all the honorees actually had to be human? "Muscletown USA" will be celebrated with a replica statue of the iconic York Barbell sign next to the USA Weightlifting Hall-of-Fame on I-83.)
August 12: Jeff Koons (The world famous artist from Dover will be honored himself with the ultimate art piece (a bobblehead), and Koons will appear that the game to mark the occasion.)
September 2: DownTown (Fans voted, and decided their 10th anniversary DownTown bobblehead would be wearing our special anniversary jersey.)
September 16: Mount Revsmore (The "Celebrate York" series will conclude with a special model of the York Revolution version of Mount Rushmore. Fan voting for the Revolution 10th Anniversary Team, which is ongoing now at YorkRevolution.com, will provide the finalists for the Revs "Franchise Four." Then the four most significant players in franchise history will be honored with this giveaway.)
The Revolution will shatter their previous franchise record for giveaways in a season, as popular giveaway staples from past seasons will return along with the Celebrate York Series. Other giveaway dates include: 10th Anniversary commemorative t-shirts presented by the Law Firm of Dale E. Anstine (home opener, April 28), 2016 magnet schedules presented by the Law Firm of Dale E. Anstine (opening weekend, April 28 through May 1), a PeoplesBank welcome mat to commemorate the first year of their ballpark naming rights partnership (April 30) and the Stambaugh Plumbing & Heating Revolution cap giveaway (August 14). That adds up to a minimum of 16 giveaways during the 2016 season! That's just about one out of every four Revolution home games in 2016 with a giveaway!
Along with the record-setting giveaways, several of the entertainment standards set by the York Revolution in our 10 years of operation will also take center stage at PeoplesBank Park this upcoming season. Individual game tickets will go on sale at YorkRevolution.com in early February, and in-person mid-February. Fans will want to grab their seats for the high-flying aerial acrobatics of XPOGO (extreme pogo-stick jump stunts) on Sunday, May 15 (Sunday games now begin at 1 p.m.), the return of the ZOOperstars! on Saturday, July 16 presented by Penn Mar Human Services, The Cowboy Monkey Rodeo returns on Sunday, July 17 presented by The Lube Center and MAD Chad, juggler of chainsaws (and other dangerous objects) on Saturday, July 30.
The Revolution will also welcome the most famous mascot in all of sports, the Phillie Phanatic, for the game on Sunday, July 31.
As is tradition, post-game fireworks will follow every Revolution Saturday home game in 2016. EVERY fireworks show this season will be a spectacular inside the park show.
