Revolution Reschedule December 27 Game
December 24, 2014 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Tulsa Revolution News Release
The Tulsa Revolution will be moving the team's home games to a new facility. The team is in negotiations with the Expo Square Pavilion at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds. The Revolution has enjoyed playing its first season and a half at the Cox Business Center, and has valued the relationship built with the staff and personnel at the arena, however, this is a positive move for the team and one that both parties feel is necessary for the long-term success of the team.
"We have thought long and hard about making this move, and didn't want to disrupt the season by doing this in the middle of the season, however, we felt that it would be in the team's best interest in order to secure our success in the future," said Revolution co-owner/general manager Adam Mellor.
At this time, the Revolution home match on Dec. 27, against the Wichita B-52s, is being rescheduled for Sunday February 22,7:05 p.m.
If talks go well at the Expo Square Pavilion, the new home of the Revolution will be closer to the team's fan base in south and east Tulsa, and Broken Arrow, and will provide ample free parking. The smaller venue will also allow the Revolution to cut ticket prices and offer greaterdiscounts to our fans. "
We think our fans would love the new venue," said Mellor. "The Pavilion has undergone some major renovations in the past few years, in regard to seating, concessions and rest room facilities. It is a smaller arena, which will make the crowd a whole lot louder in their support of our players, and this is certainly not the first time this venue has been the home of pro-indoor soccer in Tulsa, as well as other sports franchises over the years. So all that, and more, would make this a very sensible move."
Mellor will be personally contacting all season ticket holders and sponsors during this transition.
"We, the owners and staff of the Tulsa Revolution, are also very dedicated and determined to make this a successful franchise, and to keep the team in Tulsa for many decades to come."
