Bridgewater, NJ - The York Revolution (15-5, 49-40) hit four home runs to defeat the Somerset Patriots (6-14, 48-42) 13-1 on Thursday evening at TD Bank Ballpark.
The Revolution started the scoring in the top of the second inning on an RBI single by Ryan Dent and a three-run home run by Zach Sullivan (3).
Melky Mesa plated another run before a three-run homer by Dent (6) in the top of the third inning put York up 8-0.
Back-to-back home runs by Telvin Nash (27) and Isaias Tejeda (13), along with a sacrifice fly by Dent, made the score 11-0.
Two more came home for York in the top of the eighth inning on a Nash RBI single and a sacrifice fly by Tejeda.
The Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the eighth inning on an RBI groundout by Will Kengor for the 13-1 final.
Ricky Schafer (1-0) picked up the win, allowing four hits in six scoreless innings pitched. Rick Teasley (2-1) suffered the loss, allowing 11 earned runs on 13 hits in five innings of work.
The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, August 9th when the Patriots return home for a 7:05 pm game against the Sugar Land Skeeters. The game includes T-Shirts for the first 2,500 fans in attendance and 90's Night presented by Middlesex County College.
