New England Revolution News Release
Revs Up Preseason Record to 5-0-0: With its victory over CD Olimpia of Honduras on Sunday, March 25, the Revolution improved to 5-0-0 this 2007 preseason. Earlier this spring, the Revs earned 3-1 wins against the Bermuda National Team and the L.A. Galaxy in Bermuda. New England then earned a 7-0 win over Inter Playa del Carmen behind four goals from Taylor Twellman, and took a 1-0 victory over Pioneros de Cancun two days later in Mexico.
Twellman Earns 20th Cap: F Taylor Twellman earned his 20th career international cap with the U.S. National Team when he checked into the U.S.'s 3-1 victory over Ecuador on Sunday, March 25. He came into the game in the 73rd minute for Brian Ching and played the remainder of the game. Twellman was called into the USMNT camp last week and did not travel with the Revs to New Orleans.
Lochhead Starts for Kiwis: D/M Tony Lochhead earned his 12th cap with the New Zealand National Team when the team faced Costa Rica on Saturday, March 24 at Saprissa in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Revs to Conclude "Countdown": The Revs will conduct its final "Countdown to Kickoff" event on Saturday, March 31, at the West Warwick Civic Center (West Warwick, R.I.). Registration for the free event begins at 10 a.m., and will feature Revolution Academy clinics, giveaways, a soccer skills challenge and the Soccer Celebration inflatables. Michael Parkhurst, Jeff Larentowicz, Wells Thompson and Amaechi Igwe are scheduled to appear at the event.
