Revolution Name Joe Cummings as Technical Director

FOXBOROUGH, MA - The New England Revolution announced today that Joe Cummings has been hired by the club to the position of Technical Director. Cummings was part of the Revolution front office staff from 1996-99, serving as Assistant General Manager.

"Joe is an seasoned veteran in professional soccer and we're glad to have him return to Kraft Soccer," said Sunil Gulati, Managing Director of Kraft Soccer. "All of us who know Joe well know he brings experience, professionalism and quality to the soccer industry," said Craig Tornberg, General Manager of the Revolution. "I couldn't be more excited that we're bringing him in as a member of our team."

"I am excited to return to the New England Revolution and to the excellent organization established by the Kraft Family. I look forward to helping to bring a championship to the great soccer fans of New England." said Cummings.

Cummings was instrumental in the launch and management of the Women's United Soccer Association, serving as President and General Manager of the Boston Breakers. The Breakers were one of WUSA's leading clubs in sponsorship and attendance and in 2002 and 2003 Cummings was honored as WUSA's Executive of the Year. Most recently, he spearheaded the launch of the 2004 WUSA Soccer Festivals.

Cummings was also General Manager of the Boston Renegades, Boston Bulldogs and Cape Cod Crusaders, Director of Operations for the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup matches held in Foxborough, and the Venue Manager for the Boston and Philadelphia Venues for the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The Revolution also announced today that Director of Soccer Renato Capobianco has left the team to pursue other business opportunities.
