POSTGAME QUOTES: New England Revolution II 1 vs Philadelphia Union II 0

New England Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay

On the team's performance tonight:

Peay: "Yeah, I thought they played very well. It's a direct team, big size up top, so you're constantly under pressure. I thought our team dealt with it very well, was able to play out of their counter-press very well and create some wonderful chances."

On Jacob Jackson and the defense's performance:

Peay: "Yeah, Jacob was big time, bails you out when you need him to. He holds the ball when there's a shot at him. He doesn't give rebounds, and defensively, I thought the guys worked very hard and dealt with some difficult moments and competed."

On Meny Silva's Goal:

Peay: "Yeah well, firstly, great ball in from Ryan [Lima]. He's got that vision and that quality to make that final pass, and for Meny [Silva], he's been in that situation a few times and really hasn't been able to put the ball in the net, so for him, I think it's a big confidence booster and he took it well."

On Jack Panayotou's performance:

Peay: Good player. You can see he's got quality on the ball. He's got a nose for goal, and I think those goals will come."

Revolution Goalkeeper Jacob Jackson

On how he feels notching his fifth clean sheet with Revolution II:

Jackson: "Pretty good. I love coming down here and playing with the second team. They are just all fantastic. From the moment I stepped into the locker room, they welcomed me with open arms. Words can't even put it into perspective, like I said, they come in and let me just help them in any shape, way or form, so I thank them for that. I'm just excited because we're winning, you know?"

On working with the First Team and bringing that energy here:

Jackson: "Oh, it's cool because one, it shows me whatever [Kevin Hitchcock] is teaching me is working, which I can't thank him enough for that. Same thing with [Matt] Turner, Djordje [Petrović], Earl [Edwards Jr], Brad [Knighton]. All of them helped me with every little thing and it shows here, and I can't thank them enough for that as well. They're going to help me when we get back and meet together. We will watch film all together and they will break down everything from the Open Cup game to this to even how we warm up. We will find what we need to improve on and look to implement that next time we come out whether that's in training or in a game."

Revolution II Forward Meny Silva

On his goal and the pass from Ryan Lima:

Silva: "In training he plays those balls a lot, so as soon as he took that pass, I kind of read it. It was just kind of predictable.

On getting his first career goal:

Silva: "It felt amazing. I've been waiting for a very long time, and it finally came."

On how the team feels about their performance:

Silva: "We feel pretty good about the performance. We train very hard every day to be at the top."

On how adding Marcos Dias and Ryan Lima has affected New England's attack:

Silva: "It's great. They played in different leagues in different parts of Brazil, so their quality adds a lot to the attack."
