Charleston Lowgators News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 3) –The Mobile Revelers beat the North Charleston Lowgators 70-58 on Monday night at the North Charleston Coliseum to snap an eight game losing streak. The Lowgators 58 point total was their lowest scoring output of the season.

The Revelers virtually had the lead the entire way and were up by as many as 20 in the third quarter. The Lowgators would battle back to within in 10 at the start of the fourth period, but that would be as close as they would get.

Mobile coach Sam Vincent said, "This has been a long, tough road trip. It's been a very difficult period for us, so this win feels good. We need this badly. We came in and played tough immediately and set the tone."

Cedric Henderson led the Revelers (20-21) with 15 points and Shea Seals chipped in with 12. Derek Hood collected 6 offensive rebounds and had 11 total on the night.

The Lowgators shot 38% from the floor and only produced nine first quarter points. Sedric Webber's 15 points led the team. Peter Cornell had a double-double with 12 points and 10 caroms.

"We had trouble putting the ball in the basket tonight. Normally, our transition game creates a lot of high percentage shots. For whatever reason, we didn't run tonight or come out with the intensity needed to win," said Lowgators coach Doug Marty.

The Lowgators (23-20) will play at Columbus on Thursday. Mobile is at Roanoke on Wednesday.
