
Brown Named Player of Month

GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 3, 2003) â North Charleston point guard Tierre Brown has been named the National Basketball Development League Player of the Month for games in February 2003.
Brown averaged 22.1 points, 6.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game while leading the Lowgators to an 6-4 record in February. The 6-foot-2, 189-pound McNeese State University product is 11th in the NBDL in scoring, averaging 15.4 points, and is sixth in the league in assists at 4.9 per game.
Following is a look at additional Brown highlights from the month of February:
· Scored in double-figures in nine of 10 games played.
· Scored over 20 points in six games and over 30 points in two games.
· Converted 80-of-152 field goal attempts (.526)
· Recorded a league-high 16 assists against at Huntsville on Feb. 14.
· Converted 57-of-63 free throw attempts (.905).
· Averaged 2.1 steals per game.
Brown is the first North Charleston player to earn NBDL Player of the Month Honors since the league began play in November 2001. Jeff Trepagnier of Asheville was NBDL Player of the Month for November, while Tang Hamilton of Columbus took the honors in December and Cory Alexander of Roanoke in January for this season.
Other nominations for NBDL Player of the Month for games in February 2003 include Hamilton, Brandon Kurtz of Asheville, Devin Brown of Fayetteville, Kevin Lyde of Greenville, Jermaine Walker of Huntsville, Cedric Henderson of Mobile and Mikki Moore of Roanoke.
