Republic FC Reschedules Opening Night at Bonney Field to Saturday, April 11 vs LA Galaxy II

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 9, 2015) - Sacramento Republic FC will host its first home match of the 2015 USL regular season on Saturday, April 11 vs LA Galaxy II at Bonney Field. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. The match, originally scheduled for March 28, was rescheduled due to delays in expansion of the west side seating at Bonney Field.

"Although we may still complete the additional seating on the west side by the end of March, we felt we were leaving little room for error in our timelines should a delay of any kind take place in the next two weeks," said Republic FC President Warren Smith. "Our construction partners, Ovations Fanfare, Cal Expo and the multiple city, county and state entities that have been working with us on this project continue to amaze us through their support and commitment to make Bonney Field a great experience for our fans."

Republic FC will instead play LA Galaxy II in Carson, Calif. on March 28 at StubHub Center. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Both clubs agreed to swap the match dates, which permitted Republic FC to play its first match on April 11 instead of on the road at StubHub Center.

Following the approval of the Cal Expo Board on December 12, 2014, Republic FC and Ovations Fanfare commenced on expansion efforts at Bonney Field that will result in approximately 3,500 new seats for soccer matches. The $1.6 million privately funded project includes new seating on the north and west sides. The north endline seating was completed on February 20, 2015 and now seats approximately 4,300, including a section allocated for the Tower Bridge Battalion. The west side expansion will feature approximately 1,300 new seats added to the existing seating and relocation of the main bathrooms.

Republic FC single match tickets for Bonney Field will go on-sale Wednesday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. via Ticketmaster.com. Group tickets are currently available by contacting Republic FC account representatives at (916) 307-6100.
