
Reno Captures The Win Over Los Angeles

EL SEGUNDO, CA- The D-Fenders trailed the Bighorns 79-101 taking their second consecutive loss at home. Desmon Farmer led the Bighorns with18 points, while Diamon Simpson had 24 for the D-Fenders.
Los Angeles led 27-18 at the end of the first quarter. The Bighorns picked it up in the second quarter to outscore the D-Fenders 29-18, closing the half with a 47-45 lead. Marcus Hubbard led Reno with 16 points, while Rod Benson contributed with 7 rebounds at the end of the first half.
D-Fenders' James Jackson came off the bench to carry the team with 16 points at the end of the first half. Diamon Simpson contributed with nine points and Longar Longar with six rebounds, to close the half.
The D-Fenders gave up 19 points from eight turnovers, while the Bighorns only sacrificed six points of their 11 turnovers, in the second half. Reno continued to outscore the D-Fenders 23-20 in the fourth quarter.
Reno had six players score in double figures, while the D-Fenders had three. Reno's Rod Benson and Russell Robinson both grabbed double-doubles. Robinson and teammate Farmer led the team in assists, with 10 and nine respectively.
Diamon Simpson posted the D-Fender's only double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds; 11 of 13 rebounds were obtained in the second half. Player of the Game, James Jackson added 22 points for the D-Fenders.
"We had wide open looks, we have guys that can shoot, we just didn't make them tonight. It's still early; we just have to look at how we can better ourselves," said D-Fenders Head Coach, Chucky Brown.
