
Renegades take loss to Daytona with a final score of 17-22

ROME, Ga. â The Rome Renegades took a third loss with a final score of 17 to 22 on Sunday night against the Daytona Beach Hawgs.
"Last week our offense played well, and this week the defense was effective. If we can get both those together, our team will be unstoppable," said defensive coordinator, Scott Chandler.
Leading the Renegades defense on Sunday night with 7 tackles and 1 assist was safety, Lew Thomas. Other big defensive plays for the Renegades included a blocked field goal resulting in a safety by Joe Killins at the end of the third quarter, an interception by Vernon Turner, and a sack for a 5 yard gain by Prentice Purnell.
Coming up big against Daytona was Renegades wide receiver and defensive back, Gerald Gales. Gales had 92 all purpose yards including 3 kick returns for 63 yards, and a 17 yard carry for one touchdown. Monteous Blockson also rushed for 45 yards on 3 carries.
The Renegades will head back out on the road for the final game of this four week road series taking on the Billings Mavericks on Friday, April 29 at 9:05 p.m. Eastern/7:05 p.m. Mountain. Be sure to tune into Q-102 for all the play by play action.
