
Marshals Score 81 Points in Victory Over Dayton

Cincinnati, OH â The Cincinnati Marshals of the National Indoor Football League emerged victorious Saturday night after a hard-hitting, high scoring game against their in-state rival the Dayton Warbirds. The two teams combined to score 155 points in an offensive shootout with Cincinnati edging out Dayton 81-74.
The win moves the Marshals into second place in the Atlantic East Division with a 3-2 record. The Warbirds fall to 2-2 on the season, third place in the Atlantic East.
Both teams showed signs of a high-powered offense throughout the game, scoring early and often. Nine different players scored touchdowns in the contest. Quarterback Steve Bellisari led the way for the Warbirds with 168 yards and five touchdowns passing and 48 yards and three touchdowns rushing on the night. Marshals Quarterback Brett Dietz finished the night 16/27 with seven touchdowns and 201 yards passing.
100 And More
Marshals running back Rayshawn Askew became the first player in the NIFL to score 100 career touchdowns when he caught a six yard pass from quarterback Brett Dietz with 0:34 remaining in the first quarter. He went on to score 6 more touchdowns on the night, including the game winner, leaving him with a career touchdown total of 106 in only his fourth NIFL season.
First of Many
Former Hanover College standout and Marshals wide receiver Jeff Jourdan opened the scoring with a 27 yard reception from college teammate Brett Dietz to score his first professional touchdown.
"It was an exciting night," said Jourdan. "This is what I've been waiting and working for all season and to get it in front of my family and home fans feels great! I hope it's the first of many more to come."

The Marshals host the New Jersey Xtreme this Saturday, April 30 at 7:30pm at U.S. Bank Arena. New Jersey comes to Cincinnati in last place in the Atlantic East Division with an 0-5 record.
