Renegades shut out Jammers

Fishkill, NY- The Renegades got back to winning last night, defeating the Jamestown Jammers 2-0 at Dutchess Stadium in front of a crowd of 4,531. The Renegades won the three game series 2-1, increasing their record to 7-4 on the season.

Andrew Sonnanstine (W, 1-1) started the game for the Renegades pitching five innings, allowing three hits and striking out three. Marcus Barriger took over for the Renegades in the 6th inning pitching three innings, and only allowing two hits. Ryan Bitter (S, 1) completed the shutout by pitching a perfect final inning, striking out one.

LF Francisco Leandro drove in the first run of the night for the Renegades with a ground out in the first inning. In the second inning, 1B Chris Nowak drove in the second and last run of the game with a sacrifice fly.

Allen Baxter (L, 0-1) started for the Jammers pitching five innings, allowing four hits and two runs, while striking out three and walking two.

Renegades 2B Chad Cooper was 2-for-2 on the night with two walks and a run scored.

The Renegades head out on the road tomorrow night to face the Brooklyn Cyclones. On the mound for the Renegades will be RHP Eduardo Delacruz (1-0, 0.82) and TBA for the Cyclones. Game time is scheduled for 7 PM.
