
Renegades defeated for third time in four games

Fishkill, NY- The Hudson Valley Renegades lost a tough game last night at the hands of the Aberdeen IronBirds, 4-2 at Dutchess Stadium in front of a sell out crowd of 4,521.
With the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh inning, the Renegades had a 1-0 lead. Then IronBirds CF Arturo Rivas hit a ground ball to RHP Marcus Barriger who threw the ball to first wildly, allowing three unearned runs to score on that play and one more to follow.
The Renegades tried to mount a comeback in the 8th, but came up short only scoring one run on 2B Chad Cooper's RBI single.
Ryan Childs (W, 1-0) started for Aberdeen, pitching seven innings allowing one run and three hits while striking out five. He also carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Brandon Spillers (S, 5) got the save pitching one inning, allowing one hit.
Eduardo Delacruz (ND) started for the Renegades pitching five innings allowing two hits and no runs while striking out one. Barriger (L, 2-1) got the loss pitching two innings while allowing four runs, although none where earned, four hits and striking out three.
The Renegades and IronBirds will wrap up their five game series tomorrow at Dutchess Stadium. Carlos Perez (2-0, 2.54) will toe the rubber for Aberdeen, while Jon Barratt (0-3, 3.72) will start for the âGades. First pitch is scheduled for 7:11 PM.
