March 30, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Rome Renegades News Release
ROME, Ga. â The Rome Renegades will kick-off Child Abuse Prevention Month at the April 1st home game. Helping to "tackle" the child abuse problem in Rome and Floyd County, the Renegades second home game will support the month long community campaign of Child Abuse Prevention.
2,836 child abuse reports were filled in Floyd County in 2004 and 896 confirmed cases of Child Abuse occurred in Floyd County in 2004. With such alarming statistics, this next Renegades home game will be geared toward helping increase community awareness of this issue. Pre-game and half-time activities will be performed by local children ages kindergarten and up including the singing of the National Anthem by Charlie Langlois, age 12, and cheering and stunting performances by the Minis, Pee Wees and Youth teams of Hot Shots Cheer and Tumbling center. Renegades players, cheerleaders and staff will be wearing blue ribbon stickers stating, "There's no excuse for child abuse" in honor of this special night. Pinwheels will also be placed throughout the arena, and following Friday night's game those same pinwheels will be displayed at the Law Enforcement Center.
Just one more reason to come out to Friday night's ball game!!!
