Relay for Life Weekend, RiverKings Urge Participation

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- It's that time of year again! Time to support and celebrate cancer survivors and remember the brave battles of those who have gone before at the American Cancer Society's DeSoto County Relay For Life.

The Mississippi RiverKings invite you to come out to Snowden Grove Park in Southaven Friday, June 3rd anytime between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. for this celebration of life and to support the fight against cancer.

Walkers will be on the track all night long raising cancer awareness and funds for research, carrying on the tradition Dr. Gordy Klatt started in Tacoma, Wash. 26 years ago.

Today, more than 3.5 million people in the United States take part in Relay For Life, and Relay For Life events are held in 19 other countries around the world.

RiverKings staffers along with volunteers as well as members of the RiverKings With A Cause charity club will be there too, selling baked goods and raffling off RiverKings tickets and prizes, from which proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
