The DockHounds announced another splash of a signing with the addition of Lamar Briggs, the reigning Most Valuable Player of the United Shores Professional Baseball League (USPBL). Briggs, who spent last season with the Westside Wooly Mammoths, joins the DockHounds after a breakout season in 2021.

"I can't wait for Lamar to put on a DockHounds uniform. He dominated the USPBL and he is more than ready to compete in the American Association, ‚¬Â said Manager Jim Bennett. "Keep your eyes out for number 7 because he's going to bring some excitement to Oconomowoc. ‚¬Â

A product of Charlotte, North Carolina, Briggs is a 25-year-old who primarily plays third base but can also play other positions. Briggs played his collegiate ball for Jackson State University before joining the Mammoths in the USPBL.

In his MVP season with the Mammoths, Briggs had a league-best .359 batting average and a .980 OPS. Briggs was a mid-season all-star and in addition to being a threat at the plate, Briggs proved to be dangerous on the basepaths stealing 12 bases in just 36 games.
