ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, announced the signing of goaltender Garrett Zemlak for the 2010-11 season.
Zemlak, 21, made his professional debut with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) at the end of the 2009-10 season. The Saskatoon native played for the Prince Albert Raiders (WHL) for the 2008-09 season and the majority of the 2009-10 season where he was named the Raiders Most Outstanding Player. Prior to that, he played two years with the Saskatoon Blades (WHL) for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. During his four seasons in the Western Hockey League, Zemlak was 54-49-6 with five shutouts, a 3.31 goals-against average, and a .896 save percentage in 127 games.
Zemlak attended the Kings development camp in June where he was joined by Reign alumni Colten Teubert, George "Bud" Holloway, Dwight King, Michael Pelech, Jordan Nolan, and Patrick Mullen. Zemlak will also be attending the Kings development camp in the fall, which will be held on September 15, 2010.
