San Angelo Saints News Release
SAN ANGELO â The San Angelo Saints are proud to announce that Saints' net-minder Scott Reid is the co-winner of the Central Hockey League's Vaughn Goaltender of the Month award for the month of February. Reid earns the honor along with Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees' goaltender, Jeff Levy.
Reid earned the award after winning seven of nine outings for the month of February. Reid faced an average of 39.8 shots per game and allowed a total of just 16 goals, resulting in a save percentage of .955. Among the games he won, Reid also claimed his 3rd shutout of the season when he turned away 40 shots on goal versus the Austin Ice Bats February 27th in Austin. "We are very proud of Scott", said Ray Edwards, Head Coach of the Saints. "He has been a good horse for us all season long and should continue to be through the remaining home stand and into the playoffs."
Reid is also up for other Central Hockey League awards, as the regular season nears an end. He appears as a finalist for the CHL Most Valuable Player and the Scott Bower Memorial Trophy, which is the Most Outstanding Goaltender Award.
The Saints finish off the regular season with five games at home. Tickets for these games are on sale at the Saints office, now located at the Convention Center, Elite Physique, Blair's Western Wear and the Goodfellow Air Force Base Tickets & Tours.
