LEVY'S OUTSTANDING FEBRUARY EARNS ACCOLADE

CHL AWARDS JEFF LEVY AS CO-VAUGHN GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

HIDALGO, TX: March 4, 2004 – As the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees go into tonight's action against the Odessa Jackalopes, they will have an award winner on their side. The Central Hockey League announced their monthly honors today and awarded San Angelo Saints goaltender Scott Reid and Killer Bees netminder Jeff Levy as the co-Vaughn Goaltenders of the Month for the month of February.

"Levy was consistent all month long," said Killer Bees Head Coach Tracy Egeland. "He made some big saves to preserve victories, limited rebounds, and just did the things he has been doing all season long, which has made him one of the best players in this league."

Reid and Levy had near identical numbers during the month, and Levy's remarkable month included a 7-1-1 record, 1.75 GAA, and a 93.7% save percentage. The Salt Lake City, Utah native only allowed 16 goals (merely allowing 10 even strength goals) in 9 games played during the month. Levy, a CHL Most Valuable Player finalist and second-time Scott Brower Memorial Trophy (most outstanding goaltender) finalist, currently ranks fifth in the CHL in GAA (2.27), third in minutes played (2594) and tied for third in shutouts with a single-season career high mark of 4. He also has a career single-season high tally for wins with 24. The seventh year pro claims his first ever goaltender of the month honor of his career and the honor is his third accolade of the season, after claiming the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week honor twice this season.

"It's a personal reward, but I think it reflects as a team award and it is a reflection of our teams play," said Levy. "I have had personal consistency throughout the season and I feel I have not done anything different. I just show up to the rink ready to play and now it's being recognized."

The Bees will seek to clinch a playoff spot tonight with either a win or overtime loss at Odessa or a Memphis victory over the Austin Ice Bats. The game can be heard on XERT 1170 AM and may be viewed online at CHLTV.COM. The Bees next home game is Tuesday, March 9th, as they host the Lubbock Cotton Kings in their regular season home finale. Tickets can be purchased at any of the Dodge Arena ticket outlets or by calling 1-866-RIO-TIXX or 956-843-7825.
