Arkansas Aeros News Release
SPRINGDALE - The new-look 20-2 Arkansas Aeros return to action Friday night at the All-Star Sports Arena for a 7:05 p.m. meeting with the Knoxville Noise.
It will be the first contest for the American Basketball Association's No. 2 -rated team since their merger with the Arkansas RiverCatz back on Feb. 5. Kareem Reid, the all-time assists leader in the history of the University of Arkansas, will suit up for the Aeros, who already feature the school's all-time leading scorer in Todd Day. Reid was averaging 31.9 points, 11.0 assists and 3.4 steals a contest for the RiverCatz before the merger.
Other former RiverCatz slated to make their Aeros debut include Garrett Richardson (10.8, ppg, 4.4 rpg), grandson of former UA coach Nolan Richardson, Kenny Langhorne (19.1 ppg, 6.3 rpg) and Jeremy Bell (19.1, ppg, 5.1 rpg), who took part last month in the ABA's All-Star contest alongside now teammate Curtis Haywood.
Tickets for the contest will be available an hour before tip off at the All-Star Sports Arena and on-line at www.arkansasaeros.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
