Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The 2007 Eastern League Champion Trenton Thunder, the Double A affiliate of the New York Yankees, is proud to announce a partnership with St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center to support all Major League rehabilitation appearances at Waterfront Park during the 2008 season. St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center will be the presenting partner of "2008 Thunder Rehabs" and will be associated with rehab promotions and events.
A rehabilitation appearance is when a player on a Major League roster returns from an injury and plays for a Minor League affiliate in order to get into shape before returning to the Major League club. In an average year, three to five Major League players will play in Trenton as they rehabilitate from injuries. Major League stars like Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Hideki Matsui, Robinson Cano and Roger Clemens have all made rehabilitation appearances for the Thunder in the last five years.
St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center is a 129-bed, fully accredited, not-for-profit, physical rehabilitation hospital in Lawrenceville, NJ. It offers comprehensive rehabilitation services for both inpatients and outpatients, and has been serving the community for over 35 years. As a rehabilitation hospital, St. Lawrence has seen the traumatic effects of injuries and is committed to safety education and injury prevention in our community. The hospital has been a Trenton Thunder partner since 1999 and is proud to work with the Thunder in various safety initiatives.
