New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


Ryan Patterson went three-for-four with three doubles and an RBI for the Fisher Cats, but Portland rolled to an easy 11-2 victory Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.

The first place Sea Dogs (14-4) broke open a tight game with five runs in the fifth inning. Jeff Corsaletti homered off starter and loser Brandon Magee (0-3). Sandy Madera followed with a single before Magee hit consecutive batters Aaron Bates and John Otness. Andrew Pinckney followed with a grand slam off reliever Mike Gallo to make it 7-0.

Pinckney added an RBI single in the 6th inning as Portland opened a 10-2 lead. Ryan Khoury drove in four of the Sea Dog runs with a sacrifice fly in the second inning, an RBI double in the fourth inning and a two-RBI double in the sixth.

Bubba Bell homered off Kyle Yates for Portland's final run, making it 11-2.

New Hampshire (4-13) scored its runs in the sixth inning against winning pitcher Kris Johnson (1-1). Marcos Cabral reached on an error, Aaron Mathews singled, Patterson doubled Cabral home and Jacob Butler had a sacrifice fly scoring Mathews.

Jose Vaquedano, Miguel Asencio and Mike James combined to toss 3.1 innings of scoreless relief for Portland.

The rubber game of the three-game series is tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at Hadlock Field with LHP Ricky Romero (0-2, 5.19) starting for the Fisher Cats against Portland LHP Dustin Richardson (3-0, 2.12) at 12:00pm. Radio coverage begins at 11:40am on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.

New Hampshire returns to Merchantsauto.com Stadium to play Bowie on Thursday night at 6:35pm. That game will be Indian Head Athletics Scholar Athlete Night. Tickets are available through www.nhfishercats.com or by calling (603) 641-2005.

NOTES: Ryan Patterson has six doubles in his last 10 at bats, including five in this Portland series....Andrew Pinckney of Portland has hit 15 home runs the past two seasons for the Sea Dogs, seven of the them have come against the Fisher Cats...Josh Kreuzer was activated prior to the game from the Disabled List and went 1-for-4...Eric Nielsen was transferred to Triple-A Syracuse....The Fisher Cats announced that Sunday's rain out in Harrisburg will be made up when the Senators come to Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Tuesday, August 12 will now be a twi-night doubleheader with a 6:05pm start time. The teams will play two seven-inning games that night.
